Commitment to Inclusive Digital Publishing

Global Tech Scientific Press (GTSP) is firmly committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all individuals, including researchers, authors, and students with disabilities. We believe that scientific knowledge should be universally accessible, and we are continually improving the user experience for everyone by applying the relevant accessibility standards.

1. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Global Tech Scientific Press is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, particularly some legacy PDF manuscripts uploaded prior to our current accessibility initiatives.

2. Accessibility Features

We have integrated several features into our web platform to assist users:

  • Semantic HTML: Our website uses semantic markup to ensure screen readers can accurately interpret page structures (headers, lists, nav regions).
  • Contrast Ratios: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet or exceed the WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against their background.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All core functionalities, including the e-commerce cart and manuscript submission forms, are navigable using a keyboard.
  • Alternative Text: All non-decorative images and book covers contain descriptive `alt` tags.

3. PDF Accessibility (Academic Monographs)

As an academic publisher, a significant portion of our digital library consists of PDF documents. We are actively working to ensure that all newly published digital monographs and open-access journals are exported as "Tagged PDFs," enabling text-to-speech software and screen readers to parse the reading order, tables, and academic figures correctly.
