In recent years, research methodology has undergone a profound transformation. Classic principles of systematic inquiry—clarity of purpose, rigorous design, valid measurement, and transparent reporting—remain fundamental, yet they now co-exist with an expanding ecosystem of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, digital platforms, and data-intensive practices that are reshaping how research is conceived, executed, and communicated. This book has been developed in response to that transformation. It seeks to integrate traditional foundations of research with contemporary AI-enabled approaches in a coherent, pedagogically grounded manner suitable for students, early-career researchers, and practitioners. The chapters are organized around the full research process. Early modules introduce the meaning, nature, and objectives of research; the classification of exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory studies; and the logic of problem identification, research questions, and hypotheses. Subsequent modules address research design, sampling strategies, measurement and scaling, instrument construction, and data management. Later chapters focus on statistical analysis, AI-based analytics, report writing, visualization, dashboard design, and ethics in both human-centered and AI-intensive research environments.
